We the undersigned call on Bristol City Council, the Bristol Mayor, South Gloucestershire Council, the Metro Mayor and West of England Combined Authority to reverse the cuts to the following bus services :-

With regards to bus service 18 Emersons Green - The Leap - Downend - Frenchay - Stapleton - UWE - Bristol Parkway - Little Stoke and Southmead Hospital, there is a need to maintain this service on Sunday's and evenings beyond Southmead Hospital from Avonmouth and Shirehampton.

We need these Sunday services to be reinstated as soon as possible in 2017. It is important that this service continues to Bristol Parkway and Emersons Green for the benefit of hospital workers/visitors/outpatients, rail and college/UWE users and the NHS Emersons Green Treatment Centre.

We need to reach an agreement between First Group, Network Rail, GWR, West of England Partnership and South Gloucestershire Council for the funding of bus service 16 Hanham - Kingswood - Cossham Hospital - Lodge Causeway (for Hillfields Estate) - Fishponds - Stapleton - UWE and Bristol Parkway. The Monday to Saturday services should be reinstated and improved on as the lack of service is affecting people because they are having to use taxi's to get to Cossham Hospital and local rail stations

Background information

cuts to the Greater Bristol bus network cause hardship and inconvenience for bus users and encourage them to go back to their private motor cars. These cuts are a disincentive to people trying to use public transport and affect their quality of life if they are unable to access local facilities.
